Pho Saigon

#09: Fresh roll with shrimp and peanut dipping sauce. (J) I didn't feel like eating anything fried, so opted for these fresh rolls. I drenched them in the sauce and it was tasty. (S) Peanut sauce all the way! The rolls were clean-tasting, and the peanuts added extra crunch.

#35: House special. (J) Next time I'm getting this. S got more stuff in hers - I'll just give her the intestines and tendons. (S) Mmm...tendons and intestines. Too bad there was only 1 beef ball, those are my favourites.

#37: Rare beef. (J) I think I needed a larger size. Hot soup hit the spot on a crisp fall day! (S) You needed more meat. Mine visibly fills more of the bowl than yours :P

Pho Saigon

House Special: rare beef, brisket, flank, tendon, tripe and beef meatballs. (J) Haven't had pho is a long time; hit the spot. I don't remember any meatballs. (S) That's cuz I ate it.

Mango Milkshake: (J) We usually get strawberry, so this time we got mango. Not as sweet as other places, but that probably means it's not full of corn syrup. I got a major brain freeze. (S) Tasted like real mango, and less like syrup. I liked the thickness of it.

Spring Rolls: shrimp and pork. (J) Crispy and piping hot. (S) I liked the texture, and yea it was hot.

Grilled Chicken and Beef on Rice: (J) I really liked the grilled meat flavours. There was some sauce that might have been for the spring rolls, but I poured it over the rice and it was good.

Pho Metro Asian Cuisine

Strawberry Smoothie & Rice Rolls: pork, shrimp, vermicelli and mint rolls with a peanut dipping sauce. (J) I normally don't like mint leaves, but the sauce made it good. Smoothie was nice and sweet like candy. (S) I liked that the wraps stuck together, it didn't fall apart after biting into it. The sauce definitely made it yummy.

Pho: large size; with brisket, rare beef, flank and tripe. (J) Pho broth was so good. There was lots of meat. (S) This was so good on a cold day. I especially enjoyed all the tripe and brisket, awesome!

Vermicelli: with grilled chicken and spring roll. (J) Hot meat and roll were balanced by cool noodles and veggies. (S) This was nice and light. I've always liked the noodles/peanuts combo.

Strawberry Smoothie. (S) Very strawberry-y...yumm! (J) I thought they forgot about our smoothie, but the girl was just making everyone's drink and then serving them all at once.

Pho: small house special. (S) I like all that weird stuff. (J) Lots of bean sprouts and lime juice.

Rice: with BBQ chicken and steamed egg. (S) Fatty meat. (J) I liked the chicken. The egg has stuff in it I didn't know what. I poured the sauce and everything tasted good.

Spring rolls and smoothie: Vegetarian spring rolls; strawberry and banana fresh fruit shake. (J) You could taste the taro in the spring rolls. Smoothie was refreshing. (S) The smoothie was nice. The rolls were crunchy. Yumm.

Vermicelli: Vietnamese style with grilled chicken. (J) Chicken was crispy and juicy but not oily. (S) There was a lot of chicken...A LOT.

Pho: (beef noodle soup) small special combination. (J) Broth flavour was subtle after eating the chicken. Lots of meat. (S) Yes, lots of beef. Load me up!

Strawberry smoothie: (J) I haven't met a Vietnamese strawberry smoothie I didn't like.

Pho: medium beef special. (J) Tastes like other phos, but the broth seemed to taste cleaner? I could have eaten more noodles; should have ordered the large.

Vermicelli: bbq pork, sausages and eggrolls. (J) I could eat this dish all day.
