Joe Maggiano's

Maggiano’s Crab Cakes: (J) Light and crispy cakes. I could taste the crab. Good salad dressing and dill sauce. Everything got better when the lemon was squeezed on top. (S) The dill was so good! We dipped everything in it. The crab cakes had good texture, crunchy outside, soft inside. Yummm....

Curry Chicken Penne: chicken, zucchini, mushrooms and spinach in a curry rose sauce. (J) Interesting flavour. The curry worked. (S) I was pleasantly surprised. I wanted something with spinach but wasn't sure about the curry. It was very tasty!

Maggiano Burger: bacon, mushrooms, provolone, crispy onions and sweet potato fries. (J) I wanted to try this as soon as I saw the menu. Cheese and onions gave it good texture. Burger was thick and juicy. Chipotle sauce was good, but not as good as the dill. (S) That burger was big. Fries were good in dill sauce!

Mr. Greek

Bread & Salad: (J) I didn't touch the bread knowing it would make me full. We did take it home though, where I found out it was actually garlic bread! It had real chopped up pieces of garlic and was delicious. (S) Yea, didn't touch the bread, but it was a nice buttery surprise. Salad was pretty standard, good stuff.

Spanakopita: spinach pie with feta cheese in fillo dough. (J) Haven't had this in a while. Warm and flakey. (S) Spanakopita is always so good. The flakey texture, spinach, and cheese make it such a yummy treat.

Yiayia’s Moussaka: eggplant, zucchini, potatoes and beef. Served with rice. (J) Dry on the top, but moist at the bottom. (S) The rice is so good. This was like a sheppard's pie but with extra ingredients.

Classic Lamb Souvlaki: fries, vegetables and tzatziki. (J) Lamb tasted good and was cooked well. (S) Lamb so succulent. Veggies so yummy too!

Ikea

Salad and Salmon: Berry goat cheese salad and Stuffed salmon plate. (J) The creamy cheese, tart vinaigrette and nutty nuts went well together. I couldn't identify the yellow sauce on the fish. The vegetable medallions tasted like cream of broccoli soup in cake form. (S) The salad was good, I liked the combo of flavours. The stuffed salmon was also very good, though the vegetables seem like they're from frozen, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Those tart-like things were really good though. Creamy and delicious.

Rib & Chicken and Almond Cake: (J) The beef rib was huge and meaty. Chicken was dry, but we did get the last one of the batch. I liked the crispy coating on the fries. Cake wasn't too sweet. (S) The rib was very meaty and fall-off-the-bone goodness. The chicken wasn't too bad. I liked the almond cake.

St. Louis Bar and Grill

Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad: (J) I thought the chicken would be really charred, but it was just grilled. I didn't taste the seasoning on it. Lots of parmesan. I liked that there wasn't too much dressing. (S) I also liked that it was drier, not too much dressing. I was able to eat the chicken this time, and it was pretty good.

Wing Dinner: honey BBQ wings. (J) Free thanks to another coupon we had from their Facebook promo. (J) We got more here than at Fairview. The wings didn't have any flavour to them. Fries were the best. (S) I think we got one more wing here than at Fairview. Fries were great, wings were OK.

St. Louis Bar and Grill

Mandarin Chicken Salad: almonds, mandarin oranges, poppy seed dressing and chicken breast with hot sweet Asian sauce. (J) I was thinking just another salad, but then S said it was spicy. I tried a piece of chicken and BAM! Turns out it was covered in hot sauce (3 pitchforks). I then proceeded to eat most of it. I also liked that the dressing was light. (S) I ate one piece of chicken then forfeited the rest. It was way too spicy for me. The surrounding ingredients were very good; I had to eat around the sauce.

Wing Dinner: hot and honey wings. (J) This was free thanks to a St. Louis Facebook promotion! Fries and dip were awesome as usual. I'm still not a big fan of their wings though due to its dryness. Also, not as spicy (2 pitchforks) after eating the salad! (S) Fries are always awesome with that dip. Wings...not so much. It was dry and did not have a lot of meat.
