Hamburger Combo: hamburger on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomatoes, wasabi mayo and spicy ketchup; onion rings, diet Pepsi. (J) I couldn't taste the spicy ketchup at all. I got the wasabi aftertaste after a while. Onions rings were very good and crispy. (S) The onion rings were really good with the curry mayo. Yumm. The burger was pretty good too!

Veggie Burger Combo: veggie burger on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, guacamole and curry mayo on the side; poutine, root beer. (J) Dry. You could taste that it was a veggie burger, unlike at Casey's. Poutine was good but salty. (S) Mmm...NYF poutine. I didn't mind the veggie burger, it wasn't bad!

Ding Tai Fung

Location: 3235 Hwy 7 E. Unit #18B, Markham ON L3R 3P3
Phone: (905) 943-9880

Lunch: bamboo shoots, year cake, soup dumplings, soup noodles, sticky rice, green onion pancake, Chinese broccoli, pot stickers, red bean cake. (J) Everything tasted good while I was eating, but afterwards I was burping up grease all day. I learned to nip the tip of the dumpling sac, which allows it to cool without spilling its juices. (S) This meal did not sit well in my stomach. My stomach is not great with super greasy foods, which is what Shanghai-nese food is known for. It all tasted great though.

Beef Dolsot Bibimbap: (S) I didn't want to share this because it tasted so good.

Bow Bulgogi: served with rice. (J) I chose this because that's what the place was called, it had to be good. Beef was marinated. Lots of cabbage. I didn't know if it was a soup or not. The liquid was sweet. I liked the glass noodles hidden at the bottom.

Haru Matsuri

Snacks: (clockwise from top left) matcha Rice Krispie, yakisoba, green tea, yakitori, sushi platter, manju. (J) Everything was tasty but expensive. I really liked the chocolate and red bean (?) manju. (S) I liked the matcha Rice Krispie. The chicken wasn't bad, but yea...expensive.

Rice ball: with tuna. (J) I thought it would be raw tuna, but it was tuna from a can. Very fresh with crisp seaweed. (S) Very rice-y.
